We’ve been to the aquarium many times but have never been at the right time to see the mermaids.
Tessa wanted to climb in with the fish.
Lily just wanted to point to every single one.
The Mermaid Show
They had music and voices for each of the mermaids as they talked to the kids about keeping the ocean clean.
The tigers are always a favorite.
Sophie, doing her best to keep the fish tank upright.
Lily found this little step and really wanted to sit back and relax. The only problem was the glass was curved out so she sat hunched over. It was pretty funny watching her try to figure out why she couldn’t sit back.
So she decided to pose instead!
This tank had a puffer fish that kept going back and forth along the glass. Lily loved chasing it around.
She was so disappointed when the puffer swam away.
The girls getting to know the mermaids a little better. Sophie was totally into it while Tessa was more interested in the animal she just got painted on her arm.
This was the first time Lily tried the body art. She didn’t really want to sit still and pulled her arm away whenever the lady got close with the airbrush. So, we only got half a fish. But she LOVED it and kept pointing at it. Hopefully next time she’ll understand a little better and be more willing to hold still.
Then we enjoyed some “free” drinks (with our membership passes) and then watched the Dora and Diego 4D movie. I was so surprised that Lily kept her 3D glasses on the whole time. The movie was only 5 min long, but still. I wasn’t sure how she would do with the moving seats so we opted to have them turned off. She was mesmerized for all five minutes!
