Happy Birthday France!

It was France's birthday a while ago and I'm just now getting around to posting the pictures. Lindsay invited us over for a surprise waffle dinner. Unfortunately France found out about the surprise when he told Lindsay he had a meeting he had to go to. She was very adamant that dinner be at a certain time...so he guessed that people were coming over. Matt wasn't feeling well so I went by myself. The waffles were very yummy (thanks France for cooking your own birthday dinner!) After, we played Scatergories and Apples to Apples. Such a fun night!

"It will only be $150..."

This is what I heard moments before we were leaving GameStop with a new xBox. Unfortunately the old xBox never recovered from its "illness" so Matt sold it a few days later on craigslist for $50. He saved his hard drive from the old one so we could get away with just having the less expensive Arcade version. So far he's been happy with it, especially how quiet it runs :)

We've been spending our nights and weekends playing all the fun arcade games. Our favorite: Boom Boom Rockets, of course ;) Not really, it's probably the worst game on there. But our real favorite is UNO. It's fun to play with people from all over and see how low we can get our rank.

Innsbrook Olympics

Our ward had their own Olympics on Labor Day. It was a lot of fun. The activities committee did a really good job putting it all together. They even had a medals ceremony complete with someone humming the Olympics theme song. The morning started out with a yummy breakfast of pancakes, scrambles, and fruit. Once everyone was full, the games began. Neither of us competed in any of the events...someone had to take pictures :)

The kids competed in several 50m dashes - skip, wiggle walk, gallop. They also did a sponge relay. I didn't get any pictures of their relay but I'm sure it was probably so fun to watch them all get wet. The adults had shotput, long jump, and javelin. I think the javelin was probably the hardest event. They didn't know where their "javelin" would go. They also did a prego 50m dash. We even learned about some we didn't even know were pregnant yet :) The next event was the piggyback dash. The funniest was the guys giving each other piggybacks. We were laughing so hard.

The last was the relay. The first person had to spin around with the "baton" and then run to the next person who put on some swimwear and hoola hooped to the next player who went over and under the swim noodles to the third person. They dribbled the soccer ball around the cones to the last person who (for the artistic points) did a small creative dance routine with a ribbon to the finish line. It took a long time to get through all the teams, but it was a lot of fun to see all the creative moves.

The XBox is Sick :(

Surgery was necessary this evening. Our XBox froze twice while we were watching a movie, and once while Matt was playing a game. Matt decided that since we have had it for over 3 years (that's how long the warranty is) he would perform a little surgery to see why it's doing this. We discovered 3 years' worth of dirt built up on the fans and heat sync. We are happy to say the dirt has been cleaned off and we hope for a speedy recovery - Matt especially hopes, since I told him we don't have any money to get him a new one.
