We have been itching for another IKEA trip. This time we convinced Brian and Kimberly to go with us (it didn't take much convincing). Really we just wanted them to drive their SUV. Otherwise we would have been squished in the truck. We treated them to IKEA food - yummy meatballs and salmon :) Then strolled through the displays, dreaming of what simple lives we could have by buying Scandinavian style furniture and accessories.
Matt and I usually have something in mind that we want to get. This time we were in search of a computer desk and an organizer for my crafts. We were in luck and found just what we needed (plus a bit more). When we got back to the apartment Matt and Brian worked on building while the girls caught up on our Ace of Cakes (a fabulous Food Network show). Everything came together really well and we're happy now that we don't have a keyboard drawer that cl
oses on us while we're trying to type. It's beautiful!
And I love having a place for all my crafts!
We've realized that one of Matt's quarks is that he really doesn't like to see messy cords and cables. He tries very hard to hide all the cords we have in our apartment. We wanted the computer area to be clean, so Matt decided to put the computer tower and printer in the closet. It has worked out really good and you can hardly tell there are cords and cables running along all the baseboards. Just keep the closet door closed! :)

Doesn't it feel wonderful to get organized? Nice work, you guys have such great taste.
Oh Ikea, such an evil place. :) But I do love the idea of getting organized, right now thats all it is to me, an idea!
GOOD TIMES!! Your new desk and organizer look so good in your place. I love the way you can pull everything together to look so great. But secretly, the trip was all worth it just so you could learn about my passion for beef/cheese sticks Ü Oh, and so Matt could learn how buff we are Cami.
