Emma Loves her blanket. It’s the best motivation to get her to army scoot.
On the other hand, I have a love-hate relationship with this green carpet. I love that it’s soft and warm, but hate that it makes everyone look green and sickly in all my pictures! Hopefully in the next few years we’ll be able to change it out for something a little more pleasing for everyone’s skin (and my picture-editing sanity!)
The Chapmans came to visit! Grandpa Tom, Grandma Nina, Jason, Candice, and Jaycee all made the long drive to come see us! We love it whenever family comes to our part of the world.
We ate at a local pizza place. Anyone that knows us, knows we love pizza!
Later that day we took a short drive to Bishop Castle. It was a beautiful fall day. I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous leaves.
Bishop Castle is quite the attraction. A man named Jim Bishop decided one day in 1969 at the age of 25 that he wanted to build a stone cottage for his family. The construction began and before long friends and family asked if he and his father were building a castle. And so it began that Bishop Castle was formed. Every year more is added to the castle.
Lots of rocks, steel bars, stained glass windows. You can tell he used whatever he had on hand.
Some areas, like the ball in the middle of the picture below, were way too scary for me to attempt. Matt and Jason didn’t even try it. The wind was blowing pretty hard that day and you could see it rocking back and forth. No thank you!
All the girls explored the bottom two levels. That was enough for us.
But the guys made it all the way up to the top of the tower!
There were tons of signs like this
Cousins havin’ fun in a box
The next day we went to the Children’s museum
Hands are highly overrated.
My sweet little sunhat girl. Ride it Jaycee!!
Emma loved these birds. Each one made the sound that the bird makes in the wild. I have to admit, I was pretty fascinated by them too.
Grabbing some Grub
Panning for Gold (or pretty, shiny rocks)
Playing Train Conductor
Making shadow art.
Pounding some leather to make a keychain. A great way to get out some frustration!
Cute Girls!
Sunday Afternoon we made the drive to Dan and Jessica’s to hang out with them. Emma loved surfing on Jacob’s race car track!
Reading books with Grandma.
We went back home at bedtime (hence the jammies). But not before getting some cousin pictures. I’m so happy Lily has some cousins that live just a few hours from us.
Tom and Nina are such fun grandparents! They stayed the night with Dan and Jessica while Jason, Candice, and Jaycee came back to our house.
So, So Happy they were able to come visit us!
