Chapman Family Reunion (continued…)

Day Four:

Toltec Train from Chama, NM to Antonito, CO

June 04, 2012_6276June 04, 2012_6288June 04, 2012_6302June 04, 2012_6303

It was so SUPER fun! We were on the train all day and most of us expected the kids to all break down at some point in the trip. But they were all wonderful! I think it helped that we could move around on the train and not stay in our seats the whole time.

Sophie and Elise loved looking at the maps to figure out where we were.

June 04, 2012_6351June 04, 2012_6370

We stopped in Osier for lunch.

June 04, 2012_6379June 04, 2012_6381

Then back on the train to continue on to Antonito.

June 04, 2012_6382June 04, 2012_6387

Most of the passengers that were with us on the first leg got onto a different train to head back to Chama. But we stayed on the same train and went another 3 hours to Antonito. It was SO nice having most of the train car to ourselves. The kids were able to spread out and take naps.

Lily decided she was too awesome to take a nap when all the other kidlets were sleeping and zonked out about 20 minutes before we ended our trip on the train.

June 04, 2012_6496June 04, 2012_6504

All the grandkids in Antonito in their matching clothes.

June 04, 2012_6514

We rode a bus for about an hour back to Chama and had dinner at the High Country Restaurant.

June 04, 2012_6527June 04, 2012_6528

The day ended with the kids getting their very own trains in their buckets.

Day Five:

Hot air balloons took off every morning right by our condo.

June 05, 2012_6619

Almost every morning, the guys went disc golfing up the side of the nearby mountain. Seriously, they hiked the mountainside throwing discs around.

June 05, 2012_6622

We took a hike up to Treasure Falls.

The Whole Gang (minus Brian who had to work from the condo). What a good looking bunch.

June 05, 2012_6721June 05, 2012_6728June 05, 2012_6730June 05, 2012_6732

Looking back to the back seat and seeing this made my heart melt. She sure does love her baby sister.

June 05, 2012_6739

After the hike we went to a little museum where they had all kinds of little trinkets and facts about lots of old stuff.

June 05, 2012_6742

The kids mostly liked playing in the parking lot.

June 05, 2012_6748June 05, 2012_6760June 05, 2012_6764June 05, 2012_6761

During nap time the adults took turns doing a little shopping in town. Lots of cute little stores and antique shops.

June 05, 2012_6766

Later that evening we hit up the mini golf.

And made it about two holes before the littles were done and wanted to play on the playground.

June 05, 2012_6807June 05, 2012_6811June 05, 2012_6829June 05, 2012_6821

The two oldest grandkids, Elise and Sophie (mostly Sophie), stuck it out all the way to the end.

June 05, 2012_6845

But these ones were way more interested in running around, climbing everything, and trying out the swings.

June 05, 2012_6851June 05, 2012_6856June 05, 2012_6848June 05, 2012_6860June 05, 2012_6865

Jaycee’s first time on the big kid swings. Way to go Big Girl!
