Lily, at 18 (now 19) months:
- you are a BUSY girl!
- You love to run or twirl around – with your arms up in the air saying “ahh”
- you’ve been pretending for a while now – you pretend to go to sleep and wake up and say “oh-ee” (morning!), you pretend to eat pieces of “food” and share with us or your other toys, you have lots of “conversations” on the phone and “call” Daddy or Grandma several times a day
- you went through a picky stage and didn’t want to eat a lot of the foods that you previously loved. Then we realized you were cutting your canine teeth. Now that they’ve mostly broken through you are back to eating all your favorite foods again.
- your favorite foods right now: milk (you are a milk junkie!), pears, grapes, carrots, green beans, potatoes – in any form, cheese, yogurt, black beans, crackers and chips, frozen waffles (just like your Dad)
- your hair keeps getting lighter and lighter and the back is starting to curl a little bit
- you love to look through the fence to see if the neighbor boy is out playing
- you are starting to sound words out more – you try and repeat us whenever we say something to you. It’s fun having a little parrot.
- things you say consistently are: Mom, Dad, B (which could mean baby or blanket), clean diaper (sounds like keee-dye-er), and clean up (keee-uh)
Stats
Height: 33 1/4 in. (75-90%)
Weight: 24lbs 10oz (50-75%)
Head: 19 1/8 in. (90-97%)
- because you are saying more things, you are choosing to sign less which makes both of us more frustrated but we’ll get there
- you like to fake laugh all the time. You put your tongue between your lips and hiss while you wrinkle up your face. You think you are so hilarious!
- you starting Nursery officially but you’ve gotten used to having Mom in there with you (I fill in when needed) that when we try to leave you cry pretty much the whole time. Hopefully you’ll get the hang of it soon so we don’t have to worry. Last week, Dad tried to take you and you kept pushing him back into the room when he started getting close to the door.
Lily, you are such a joy in our home. You are sure getting a fun (and a little bit sassy) personality. We couldn’t imagine our lives without our sweet girl!
