We’ve Got Wheels!

At the beginning of April, Matt surprised me and bought Lily and I this bike and seat so we wouldn’t be stuck in the house in this beautiful weather we’ve been having. WE LOVE IT!! And it was a lot cheaper than getting us a new car. We’ve been getting out on lots of bike rides and love how many more things we’re able to do and see just by having a bike. April 15, 2011_5457

My bike is a Nirve 3-speed cruiser (complete with a bell!). And Lily’s seat is called an I-Bert – which Ironically is made by a company in Riverton, UT, just down the road from our hometown. Lily loves her view and makes sure to point and sign to every dog she sees while we’re riding. We get lots of people smiling at us and saying, “aww cute!” Who can look at that cute little girl with helmet and sunglasses and not admit that it’s adorable!?

We’ve also been going on lots of family bike rides with Matt too. I’m much more brave when he’s with us and willing to go a lot farther. Last weekend (Mother’s Day weekend) we decided to ride all the way to Daniel and Jessica’s house. We found the trails we were supposed to take and set off on our 14 mile trek. One thing we really love about Denver is the amount of trails in and throughout the city. You can get to so many places by following the nicely paved trails. There were lots of other bikers that had the same idea as us and the trail was like a bike freeway. I got to use my bell a lot. It took us about an hour and a half to get to their house. The next time should go faster since we got kind of confused when there were five or six different trails at one time. We stayed at their house for a couple hours to rest and have lunch and then made the trek back, which took us just over an hour. The ride back was so fun! It was pretty much all down hill till the very end.

Family bike rides are the BEST!!

These next pictures are just of our house back in the beginning of April when all our tulips and daffodils were in full bloom. They were so pretty, but didn’t last very long.
