We’ve got some sweet connections (Daniel and Jessica) that got us in to Starfest for free. All we had to do was act like we were chaperones for the youth group that was going with their ward. It seems pretty silly that two youth needed six chaperones (plus their kids). But needless to say, those youth were well looked after for the few hours we were there.
There were some awesome costumes. And people were happy to oblige to my request for a picture.
There was a room full of Battlestar Galactica model ships. Yes, we’re nerds. We’ve watched the whole series and enjoyed it.
Matt got starstruck when he saw these two guys in uniform and begged to get a picture with them. He complimented them on their costumes and was quickly corrected that they were uniforms! So sorry.

The little girls were in heaven when we found tiaras. All hail Princess Tessa!

These were some of the rooms that were decorated for the event. We joked how it would be so surprising for someone who came to stay at this hotel that didn’t know about all this going on and had to deal with some interesting neighbors.
