this baby’s got wings

At the ripe old age of 2.5 weeks Lily took her first plane ride. We took a family trip to Denver for a second interview with Pacific Dental and to spend time with Daniel, Jessica, and their cute girls.

Sophie and Tessa were so sweet with Lily. Sophie kept saying, “Baby Wilwee is so cute!” And Tessa wanted to be by whoever was holding Lily.

Jason and Candice even drove to Denver to spend the weekend with us. Aren’t they awesome?!?

The next morning I got the fun experience of Denver Urgent Care when we found out I got a Bladder Infection.  Thanks to modern medicine I was able to enjoy the rest of the trip.

Dinner at the Cherry Cricket.

Playing at the Mall since there was a big snowstorm going on outside.

BROTHERS

While the girls were playing, some of the gang went to the nearby candy store and bought some overpriced candy that fizzes in your mouth. They were alright, an interesting taste but not horrible. But leave it the the guys to make things more interesting by  biting the hard candy and letting the fizz hit their tongue all at once. You can see by the pictures how well that went :)

Even Sophie loved the candy! Lesson learned: fizzing candy – not so good.

The next morning we ate brunch at a fun place called Snooze. They jammed all 9 of us at a round table with rounded booths. Needless to say, we were cozy! The unfun part: we think Matt got food poisoning there. That night (and the next day) he spent a lot more time in the bathroom than he was hoping. But luckily he was much better by the time he had his interview.March 20, 2010_123 March 20, 2010_130

We spent some time driving to different areas around Denver. It all looks nice, like a place we could get used to living in. But it won’t be anything like Richmond (we’re really going to miss living here).

These three made an awesome snowman while the rest of us hung out in the nice warm apartment.March 20, 2010_172

Lily smiled and started cooing more while we were in Denver. SO CUTE! She is getting more social everyday.March 21, 2010_177

While Matt was at his interview the girls went to the Denver Zoo. It seemed like everyone else in Denver had the same idea. It was packed!

Matt feels really good about his interview and the company he interviewed with! Hopefully soon we’ll know if Denver is where we’re supposed to be next.

For the record if we all weren't so dang sick that weekend I would have jumped in Jason's car and come too. But were glad we didn't spread our germs :) Lily is looking more and more like a Chapman everyday! Love you and miss you guys!

Fun trip! sans the bladder infection and the food poisoning! sounds horrible! Lily is such a cutie! Sounds like she did well on the trip. Props for being so brave to take such a tiny one on the plane. Can't wait to see where you're headed in a few months.
take care!
