Justin flew back to Virginia with us. And spent July 18th through 25th with us. This was the first plane ride for Justin and "lucky"

for him we experienced pretty much all the things you don't want happening. Our connecting flight in New York was cancelled because of heavy weather. Our choices were to stay till late that night and hope that we can catch another flight out of JFK or go to another airport and leave sooner. We chose to go La Guardia airport and take our chances there. Either way, they guaranteed a flight the next morning. But we really didn't want to spend the night in New York. So we took a scary cab ride, got to the airport, and waited...and waited...and waited. Our flight didn't leave for another 6 hours.

Fortunately we were able to get some meal vouchers from the airline so we tried to eat at Chile's but none of our stomaches were up for the challenge. We realized we could have gotten away with one meal between the three of us and still have food to spare. So we tried to sleep some in the airport (quite unsuccessfully). We finally boarded our tiny plane. Justin and I sat in the front while Matt had a seat in the back. We were just glad we were all on the same plane. The ride was fine until we were about 20 minutes from Richmond when the pilot said t

here was a storm over Richmond. Poor Justin got sick on the plane and didn't recover till the next morning. Apparently he wasn't the only one that needed a bag. I got one just in case. But we did make it! Our luggage on the other hand didn't. It was delivered later that night. So, needless to say Ju

stin did not want to fly ever again. He even joked that he would just drive back to Utah. But let's move on to the fun stuff that went on while he was here...

Friday, we met up with
Corey and Jill at Paramount's
Kings Dominion. The day consisted of riding lots of roller coasters, lots of screaming and laughing, Justin playing basketball games, Justin winning prizes in the basketball games, Matt losing to Justin at a beanbag throwing game, and a Spongebob interactive 3-D movie. By the time we left, everyone felt

like they

were still being thrown around on a roller coaster.
After the theme park we ate at Cracker Barrel and then followed Corey and Jill back to Maryland to stay at their place.
Saturday the five of us went tubing on the Potomac River. We were set with our water guns, water shoes, and spiderman pool frisbee that were all bought at Target just before. The water was great, not cold like we're used in Utah. Thanks Corey for the

pictures! :)
That night we chilled at Corey and Jill's while they went to a wedding. We watched
The World Series of Pop Culture game show. Which, until then, none of us had heard of before.
Sunday we did all the DC sights, complete with a narrated car tour provided by Corey over the cell phone speaker (we took two cars).

Monday, Matt was back to school so Justin and I chilled at the apartment until he came home. That evening we went to Five Guys and then to the Richmond Metro Zoo. We loved feeding all the animals. Th

e guys found an Orangutan that would give them a thumbs up whenever they threw a grass pellet at him. It was very funny. And of course we had to feed the blue-tongued giraffes.
Tuesday we took Justin for his first experience at Ci Ci's. I think it went well. That night we went to Meet the Robinson's at Byrd Theater.
Wednesday, Justin and I got some Quizno's before heading for the airport. I think he had been dreading this moment the entire trip. We printed his tickets off the night before so he didn't have to deal with that. I walked in with him, we said our good byes and I sent him on his way to security.
And that was that. A week went by quick, but I think he enjoyed it. We loved having him visit us.

I wish we had so many fun things to do here so people would want to come visit us! I wish we could come out and see you. I guess we have the advantage of being closer to home so it's easier for people to come out here... but why would they? j/k (to see Sophie of course)
That would be awesome if you guys could come visit us. We'll have to see if we can work something out.
