The Living Planet Aquarium

Isabelle's preschool class was taking a summer field trip to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy and Mindy invited us to go too. I mentioned it to Sharlie and she told us that Natalie would love to come too. So the three of us met Mindy and her two girls at the aquarium. We went to an animal demonstration where two men brought out different animals like a snake, spider, cockroach, glow-in-the-dark scorpion, and birds and told facts about each. My favorite was the birds with all their tricks. I could have done without all the insects and the snake. yuck! But Isabelle and Natalie looked like they were enjoying it.

Then we went to the aquarium portion where we touched manta rays. They're a lot squishier than we expected.

We also saw lots of jelly fish swirling around and got to touch the sea stars and look at other invertabrates. Natalie and Izzy had fun imagining they were driving a boat on an interactive video tour of the Great Salt Lake.

We got some sandwiches at Subway and took them to the park. We had lots of fun having lunch on the grass (Gracie was enjoying more than just the food) and playing on the playground.
