Ann and Elise in DC

Saturday we got up really early to drive to DC. Unfortunately, Elise was not able to get all the beauty sleep that she requires and we got to experience the "little - ogre." But once we got in the car she was sound asleep and then slept some more as we were walking around the museums and monuments. So we had the cute Elise back! DC was CrAzY! The annual Cherry Blossom festival is going on right now. And it was the kite festival too. We had to deal with huge crowds of people the whole day. And since it was windy and cold, people were inside all the museums too. But we made it. We decided to use the metro this time. Our first stop was Arlington Cemetery - JFK and the Changing of the Guard, which we didn't stay for since we had Elise.

We hopped back on the Metro and went to the Freer Art Gallery (mostly just to get brochures and maps so we would know where to go next). We stayed for a few minutes and looked at the ancient chinese art. One of the scultures had been carved around 500 BC. It was amazing that there was still so much detail even after so many years. We ate lunch at the Smithsonian Castle Cafe. There were so many people we had to eat on the floor. But it was OK. You can look at the collages to see all the monuments and museums we went to. We also went to the Air and Space museum and FDR Memorial - for some reason I didn't take any pictures of those. weird. We tried to take Ann and Elise to a lot of places, but there never seems to be enough time for everything. By the end we were all tired and were ready to give our feet a rest.

And here are some pictures of the cherry blossoms and some cute ones of Matt and Elise in her DC hoodie.

Ya it was pretty freaking awesome! I already want to go back since we only saw about 1/4 of the stuff. Thanks Matt and Cami for putting up with me and my ogre.:)

Wow, there is a lot to see in DC isn't there? That's neat you covered so much ground! It makes me smile to see Matt pushing the stroller. :) It's so cute to see those two playing together, he's going to be a great dad someday. I really enjoyed your pictures, excellent work!

What fun collages, you'll have to let me in on how you did it. Looks like fun times, I can't believe all the people at the cherry blossoms!
