13 months

So, I missed the 12 month post and so much has happened since Lily’s birthday that I thought I’d just include the next month too.

 

Lily, at 13 months:

• you are busy, busy, busy. You very rarely hold still (unless a good show is on – like Blue’s Clues). You are always emptying, filling, carrying and exploring everywhere you can get to.

• you went through a phase where you liked to hide your toys in the sub woofer. It drove your Daddy crazy. Luckily my hands are small enough to fish out whatever toys you’d stashed there.

• you have 8 teeth poking through your gums – four on the top, three on the bottom, and your right-side molar on the bottom. You’ve got quite the toothy grin!
• you LOVE dogs and get so excited when you see one. You have little fear of them despite being licked in the face and knocked over multiple times.
• You continually impress us with the new signs you learn everyday. You now know about 35 signs. We love seeing your little hands tell us what you are thinking about! (Just for my information – signs you know so far: milk, more, all done, eat/food, banana, drink, water, cheese, hat, car, baby, bear, horse, dog, hot, bath, socks, shoes, clothes/pajamas, outside, play, sleep, blanket, ball, flower, book, lion, wash hands, clean, dad, fish, grass, balloon)Your signs aren’t perfect and take us a while to understand what you are saying but we love that you’re trying.

 

• you wave your elbows and quack for a duck, roar for a lion (or tiger or jaguar), and hiss for a snake.
• you’ve recently become the cutest little mommy to your doll. Several times a day you bring your baby and a blanket to us to wrap and then you carry it around.
• when you sit you cross your feet. It is the cutest thing ever!
• you LOVE books. You bring us a book, sit for a few pages and then go to get a different book. We do this multiple times a day

• we go to Baby Story Time at the Library on Thursdays. You love singing the songs and watching everyone do the actions. Your favorite song is Six Little Ducks (this is where you learned to quack and wave your elbows)
• you love your Daddy and miss him while he’s at work. You point to him in pictures and sign “dad” when he’s not around
• we’ve moved you into a bigger carseat. Because our car is so small and the carseat is so big, we had to put you facing forward. You love being able to see out the windows better and your favorite part is the drink holders which we use to put snacks in.
