Overdue update

It has been way too long since we have posted anything and lots of things have been happening.
Three weekends ago Corey and Jill came down from Maryland to visit us. They came Saturday afternoon and we headed downtown. We ate at Bottoms Up Pizza which is located right under the railroad tracks. Not exactly where I would think of putting a restaurant. But they didn't seem to be hurting at all and the pizza and appetizers were yummy.

We spent the next few hours walking and shopping on Cary Street where we found the coolest toy store. World of Mirth had really cool toys, some of which Matt couldn't leave without. He got a balancing rubber thing

and a robot, which is from the TV show Lost in Space.

It took us awhile, with the help of Google, to figure out what the show was called. Anytime anyone comes over, Matt immediately asks them if they want to see his robot. And apparently it has even "earned" a space on the bookshelf. We'll see about that. Boys and their toys...

Two weekends ago, we had our stake temple day so we went and did some sealings.

After we were done we drove up to Maryland to see Corey and Jill's new apartment. They were worried we wouldn't like it. But they were worrying for nothing. It was very cute and had a fireplace. awesome. So we ate a quick lunch and decided to go for a hike since the weather was beautiful. Cunningham Falls was just a short hike away. We couldn't get very close, something to do with forest preservation, but it was still pretty. After getting a few mosquito bites and some pictures we headed out.

Corey and Jill took us to the most interesting mall we had ever been too. It was one of those malls that your jaw drops, your eyebrows go up, and you think, "Wow." But it's not a "Wow this is really cool." There were at least four stores that advertised all of their merchandise being one price. In fact, it was the name of their store. The 66 cent store. Nothing over 1.99. Deal or MORE Deal (very clever). Check out the link for more "great" store names. Almost every store was a copy of the next. It was like the flea market had taken over the mall. We had a few chuckles when one store had small figurines that said Florida all over them. Are we still in Maryland!?!

We went back to the apartment and ate a delicious roast which Corey made and caught up on some Deadliest Catch.

Sunday, we went to church with them and left for Richmond right after. The visit was short but we're glad we went.

Last week Cami started another job. Along with teaching, she is working at the library just down the street from the apartment sorting and reshelving books. The work is a bit tedious but the hours go fast. Matt has come to study while she is working. This would be one of the reasons why there hasn't been anything posted for a while. Two jobs is tough. Hopefully the extra paycheck will make it worth it.

Matt has been studying hard as his classes come to an end. Three big tests are coming at the end of the week. Good thing I'm not around as much to distract him :)
